Sir if we make string in straight line then acceleration should be added but you have substracted.. I cant understand

For the rod of mass M,in the equation of motion i.e.,in the second equation,have you simply substituted 'f' in place of 'T'?Or you have used some other logic?

Sir,while writing the equations of motion,how do we consider which force is smaller and which one is larger?Is the bigger force in that direction in which the body is accelerating?

Is rod also coming down the string?Or is it moving along the string?

Why is there tension force down the bead?
6 years ago by Manasi Singh
Post your answer here
sir I take that string is just attached to rod at one end then for acceleration of rod friction will not be coming into picture and it is not mentioned in the question as well. Sir I just want to say how I thought immediately after seeing question and I understand your solution sir.

SIR HOW FRICTION ACTING ON STRING IS DOWNWARD AND HOW IS IT EQUAL TO TENSION
8 years ago by KAIKALA RAVI KUMAR
Ans 1 ->
do not think that bead is hung on the string as bead is free to slide on the string as friction on bead acts upward due to sting same friction acts downward on sting due to bead and as sting is mass less the two forces acting on string will be same
